Sergio Salvador Aguirre Sánchez

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco on March 16, 1972. He graduated from the “Escuela Libre de Derecho” Law School in 1997 with the thesis, “Mortgage Trusts and the Constitutionality of their Performance.”

From 1988 through 2002 he held the following positions at the General Legal Department of the Tax Administration Service (SAT):, within the Mexican Ministry of the Internal Revenue Service (SHCP): Head of the COMPEX Customs Department, Assistant Director of Foreign Trade, Local Legal Director in Ciudad Guzman and Zapopan, and Director of Regulations. His job characteristics involved activities of Department Administration, Consulting, Regulation Establishment, Rresolution of Claims, as well as Tax litigation, Customs and Criminal law.

He has studied several courses including: a “Distance Education Diploma Course” in Foreign Trade at the “Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México” (ITAM-SAT). A “Diploma Course” in Tax Law at the Tec de Monterrey. A “Specialization in Taxes” at the Pan-American University, and “Studies About Anticipated Resolutions of the North American Free Trade Agreement” given by the SAT.

He is a tenure professor of General Theory of the State at the Pan-American University, in the Guadalajara Campus.

He has given lectures, and courses in several forums, including: the Mexican Bar College of Attorneys, the College of Certified Public Accountants in Guadalajara, the Employers’ Confederation of Mexico (COPARMEX) in Jalisco, the Tax Administration Service, the College of Public Notaries of the State of Jalisco, and the University of Guadalajara. He has also published articles in Mexican law reviews. He is a Legal Advisor Council Member of COPARMEX in Jalisco, as well as part of the Tax and Legal Issues Commissions of this institution.

He is a member of the Mexican Bar College of Attorneys, serving as President of the Jalisco Chapter of this institution for the period between 2004-2006.

He speaks English.
